1. Executive Summary

This report documents the successful completion of active water leakage rectification works at Tank 05 within the Argentine Complex.

The intervention addressed persistent joint leakage through a dual-resin injection system combining rigid polyurethane for immediate water stoppage and flexible polyurethane for long-term elastic sealing.

The adopted methodology ensured:

• Immediate active leak arrest
• Structural stabilization
• Flexible long-term waterproofing
• Durable surface reinstatement

────────────────────────

2. Scope of Work

The works included:

  1. Surface preparation and joint exposure
  2. Drilling injection holes at 45° angle toward leakage paths
  3. Installation of high-pressure injection packers
  4. Primary resin injection (Power Proof PU – rigid system)
  5. Secondary injection (Sika® Injection-306 – flexible system)
  6. Removal of packers after curing
  7. Reinstatement using DCP cementitious grout
  8. Final inspection and verification

3. Technical Materials & Justification

3.1 Primary Injection System

Material: Power Protect 0-95 & W-70 (Hydrophobic PU Resin)
Function: Immediate water cut-off
Technical Characteristics:
• Rapid reaction with moisture
• Closed-cell rigid foam formation
• Strong adhesion to wet concrete

Used as the initial sealing layer to stop active water ingress and fill voids.

3.2 Secondary Injection System

Material: Sika® Injection-306 (Flexible PU Resin)
Function: Long-term elastic joint sealing
Technical Characteristics:
• Permanently elastic after curing
• Expands upon water contact
• Certified under EN 1504-5

Applied after stabilization phase to accommodate thermal movement and pressure fluctuations.

3.3 Final Reinstatement Material

Material: DCP Cementitious Grout
Function: Injection hole closure and cosmetic restoration
Properties:
• Non-shrink
• High bonding strength
• Durable under wet-dry cycles

4. Execution Methodology

4.1 Surface Preparation

• Cleaning and isolation of affected area
• Removal of laitance and contaminants

4.2 Drilling & Packer Installation

• Drilling at 45° inclination toward leakage path
• Installation and pressure testing of packers

4.3 Injection Process

Step 1: Low-pressure injection using rigid PU resin to stop active leakage.
Step 2: Secondary injection using flexible PU resin for elastic sealing.
• Gradual pressure increase to penetrate micro-cracks and capillaries.

4.4 Finishing

• Removal of packers after full curing
• Injection hole repair with DCP grout
• Surface smoothing and restoration

────────────────────────

5. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

All works were executed under UCC’s HSE Management Plan:

• PPE enforcement
• Controlled chemical handling
• Ventilation compliance
• Zero incidents recorded

Warranty & Recommendations

United for Marine Services provides a 6-month workmanship warranty for the injection works.

In case of leakage reoccurrence due to workmanship within this period, rectification will be carried out at no additional cost.

Recommendations:

• Avoid mechanical disturbance at treated joints
• Maintain structural stability to reduce stress movement
