SUBJECT: STP Manhole Rectification – STP Zone-3 / Section-3
PROJECT: Argentine Complex
Client: UrbaCon Trading and Contracting – Doha, Qatar

────────────────────────

1. Project Introduction

This report documents the rectification works carried out on the foul sewer manhole located at STP Zone-3 / Section-3 within the Argentine Complex.

The manhole exhibited significant structural deficiencies including severe internal water leakage and misalignment of the precast concrete rings. Immediate corrective and strengthening measures were implemented to restore structural integrity and ensure long-term durability.

────────────────────────

2. Identified Issues

Based on site inspection and assessment, the following issues were identified:

  1. Major water leakage inside the manhole structure.
  2. Misalignment of the precast manhole rings affecting structural stability.

The above conditions posed a risk to long-term performance and required systematic rectification.

────────────────────────

3. Rectification Methodology

The rectification works were executed in a controlled step-by-step sequence as follows:

3.1 Leakage Arrest

• Conducted chemical injection to stop active water seepage prior to structural repair.
• Ensured leakage was fully controlled before proceeding with surface rehabilitation.

3.2 Surface Preparation

• Carried out surface cleaning and preparation.
• Marked repair zones as per strengthening requirements.
• Chipped existing substrate to create adequate roughness for bonding.

3.3 Structural Strengthening

• Drilled holes for reinforcement anchoring.
• Inserted 8mm diameter reinforcement bars.
• Anchored reinforcement using approved chemical anchor system (HIT-RE 500 V3).
• Dust removal inside drilled holes using Hilti pump.
• Injection of chemical anchor using Hilti dispenser.
• Installed reinforcement mesh T8 @ 200mm C/C as per strengthening details.

3.4 Repair Mortar Application

• Used approved repair mortar (Cempatch S).
• Mixed material using mechanically powered mixer.
• Applied mortar with firm compaction to ensure proper bonding with reinforcement and substrate.
• Created rough spatter surface to enhance adhesion between layers.
• Conducted initial finishing and leveling using plastic float.
• Performed final finishing to achieve uniform surface.

────────────────────────

4. Materials Used

• HIT-RE 500 V3 Chemical Anchor
• 8mm Reinforcement Bars
• Reinforcement Mesh T8/200 C.C.
• Cempatch S Repair Mortar

All materials used were approved and applied in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

────────────────────────

5. Safety Compliance

All works were performed under controlled safety procedures, including:

• Confined space precautions
• Proper PPE usage
• Tool and equipment inspection
• Supervised application of chemical materials

No incidents were recorded during execution.

6. Completion Status

The STP manhole has been successfully rectified and structurally strengthened.

The implemented solution ensures:

• Elimination of water leakage
• Improved structural alignment
• Enhanced load-bearing capacity
• Long-term durability of the manhole structure

The manhole is now restored to safe and stable operational condition.
